Phish was fun. Hippies know how to party, and I am in recovery mode from the damage I did to my body.
I hit a wall recently with these last rounds of editing, so I’m in the middle of one last vacation to freshen my mind before I finish this novel. Looking at the same sentences over and over again for half a year can get pretty boring, but this polishing was beyond necessary. Spending lots of time learning rules and correcting errors that I consistently commit, I’ve started to become obsessed with grammar, though I wouldn’t claim to be particularly skillful in that department as of yet. But weirdly enough, I am starting to find grammar and the entire editing process fun.
For some time now, I’ve had a vague idea for a historical, fictional story that I wanted to implement in a random time period, and over the last few days I’ve figured out exactly what time period I want to use. It will be based in the American Revolution, but it will be unlike anything I’ve ever seen or read in that setting. So many people like to use the figures in America’s beginnings to justify their own ideological inclinations, and I think it would be interesting to tackle them in a way that was wholly apolitical, instead treating them in a manner that is solely concerned with creating a compelling story. Ideally I would like to create this story as a television series, but I will probably write it as historical fiction novel first. I currently have this idea slated to be the 2nd book I will write after I finish writing the first four sci-fi novels.
Okay, more blogging next week. For now, it’s time to refuel the mind.
Hope you’re enjoying the holiday/summer/life
